Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia She was born in Colombia and Portugal, but she later moved to Scotland when she began her career on the stage at The Edinburgh Festival. After 16 she moved to London where she started working in independent filmmaking. (Her first pay-per-view on The Acid House was as a stoner with Irvine Welsh (1998)). Also, she's participated in theater as an actor as well as a director. In 2004, her move to Los Angeles in 2004 led to more theatre. She directed Anne Dudek (a regular star on Mad Men/Big Love (2006)) as along with David Dayan Fisher (a regular actor in 24 (2001/NCIS 2003)) to acclaim. Her first US movie role was as "Stacy" who was a manipulative birthed Christian as seen in Headspace (2005). She was then cast in the role of "Thumper Wint", a wild, born-again Christian, in Sex and Death 101 (2006) (Simon Baker/Winona Rider) and directed by Heathers (1988). The critics were impressed with her distinctive combination of powerful sexuality and irreverent humor. Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is an South American comedy in which she plays the unhappy wife of Trevor Lock, a Brit comedian. She is fluent in Spanish throughout the film, that was made in Peru. In Burke and Hare (2010) directed by John Landis, she plays Isla Fisher's bestie , along with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry. Her intense performance as the lead role in Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) made shock waves at Sundance 2011. The film received rave reviews and topped the New York Times readers' favorite movies poll. She won three Best Actress nominations, including Total Film's Frightfest Award as well as Fright Meter's.
