Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a writer, director actress, musician, and actor who has directed many episodes of TV that include The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012), among others. Milena served as the Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf's CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently attached for two pilots. Milena was one of eight filmmakers chosen by AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, and also the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable is her short film as well as a television show proof of concept, was premiered at SXSW. It also took home Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017) was shown across the country. The film won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival. Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. and the Director's Choice Award from Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has been in over 100 television episodes as an actor. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. Then she became the first and only female detective in Law & Order (1990). She has been featured or reprised on a variety of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also been featured in several movies, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015); #Lucky Number (2015), starring alongside Method Man; and the features Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena was born in Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she graduated with two major vocal performances and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also graduated as valedictorian. Soon after, she capitalized on her ballet and classical training to make an appearance on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production of "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
