Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter, who was born on July 23, 1970, is an American actress. Cordelia Chase played the role of Cordelia in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's supernatural thriller (1997-1999) and the spin-off show Angel (1999-04). She also appeared as Kyra in Charmed (2004) as well as Kendall Casablanca's in Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell in The Lying Game (2012-2013), and Lacy in The Expendables film series (2010-2012). Carpenter was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter is of Spanish (from the maternal grandfather), French and German descent. Carpenter was a student at Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas. Carpenter was an active member of a troupe that performed in song and dance which was a part of Las Vegas Valley. Carpenter's family relocated to Rosario Beach (Baja California, Mexico) when Carpenter was 15 years old. She went to Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter was a frequent traveler throughout Europe after graduating. She returned to San Diego and worked in the video store, as an aerobics instructor, property manager and as a clerk. In 1991, she was employed as an cheerleader for San Diego Chargers football team. In 1992 she moved to Los Angeles. She was swimming in San Diego with two male acquaintances at the time that Henry Hubbard Jr., an ex-police officer from San Diego and serial rapist who was attacking them, swarmed them. Both her friends and Hubbard were shot at during the fight. Hubbard fled the scene but both of her companions were saved. Hubbard was detained and convicted, and sentenced to 56 years of prison time for a number of rapes. Carpenter stole Hubbard's flashlight which was a police-issue flashlight, away from the shore. The flashlight was a crucial element of evidence against Hubbard.
