Alona Tal

Alona Tal is an Israeli-American actress and singer. She was born in Herzliya on October 20, 1983. She began her career while she was a member of the Israeli Defense Forces. Her biggest break came in 2003 , when she was the lead in an Israeli film. Apart from her roles in Israeli films, she composed several songs with Subliminal. Tal moved in with her sister in New York to take a vacation from her professional life. She collaborated with Wyclefjean, an Haitian artist who sang "Party to Damascus". American television also saw her establish herself with a recurring part on the television show Veronica Mars. She initially tried out for the role of lead however the creator Rob Thomas created a new character for her. Tal then was able to secure an regular spot in the short-lived CBS series. Before going to New York, Tal starred in two Israeli TV shows. Wyclef Jean recorded a song. Hebrew is her first language. Came in second for the role of Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally she auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice for the title role. Thomas loved her so much that he designed the recurring character of Meg Manning just for her. He served in The Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jews--her father is Turkish/Jewish while her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays the role of Adrian Monk's daughter in the last episode.
