Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American artist and performer who are both of Irish origin. The passionate, fiery roles she played in a range of American films were appreciated by the green-eyed beauty , with fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her beautiful and glamour was well-loved and she was popularly known as the 'Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her roles on screen reflect her strong, courageous spirit that struggled for survival and recognition in a male-dominated society. She was always a "tough Irish lass" who was never willing to compromise her honor and status to be able to play the roles she deserved through merit. Through her long career in the world of film she was always vocal against discrimination and unfair treatment of women actors. Because of this, she gained a lot of followers. Her autobiography, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. The book was an honest and open description of her life, including the struggles she endured while climbing the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who wasn't afraid to try herself at her own tricks. Through the years, she starred in over 60 films and gained lots of attention throughout the world. After she left Parra, she married Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. Blair was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot. He was also the first transatlantic pilot to be a pioneer. After a few years of their marriage, O'Hara decided to end her retirement. Blair, however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in 1978. O'Hara's bliss was not long-lasting. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required urgent surgery. She was able to recover. Over the next few years, her health deteriorated and she suffered six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, 95 years older, passed away peacefully at Boise (Idaho) on the 24th of October 2015.
